About Serco Group

Serco is committed to operating in a responsible and transparent way, enhancing the safety, wellbeing and growth of the communities – more... in which they operate.
Great service doesn’t just happen; it’s the result of effective partnerships, the right capabilities and systems, and a strong service ethos. Serco works in partnership with the Australian and state governments and businesses to achieve excellence in service delivery.
Serco won its first contract in Australia as part of a joint venture in 1990. The NSW Government contract was for the management of Q stores, which involved running a large depot that held and distributed supplies required by hospitals, schools, medical centres and local authorities. Q Stores supported 8,000 customers across the state. It was an historic facility, arguably Australia’s oldest organisation, tracing its lineage back to the supply organisation Captain Arthur Philip set up at Port Jackson when Australia was first settled in 1788.
In the years that followed, again as part of a joint venture, Serco won several defence contracts in addition to commercial contracts in Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales. In 1992 negotiations were completed to enable Serco to purchase their joint venture partner’s 50 per cent holding, renaming the company Serco Australia Pty Limited.
Since then Serco has built a strong and diverse portfolio through their reputation for commercial know-how, a public service ethos, service excellence and a customer centric approach. – less
