Disorganized and lacked managerial leadership
Medical Coder (Former Employee), Lewiston, Maine –
This was a remote coding position. Things I was told during the hiring process never manifested. Mostly, employment was spent completely idle (with pay). It seems I was hired and kept on stand-by; the pay and benefits were good, but, I would have preferred to work. The hardest part of the job was the endless waiting and not getting any feedback.

Mckesson at its best
Pharmaceutical Material Handler (Current Employee), Duluth, GA –
Pros: overtime
Cons: start time is late
Workin at mckesson has been a life changing experience. Throughout the last 4 years ive been there i have learned a lot form this company. I went from order picker(materail handler) to now working on the shipping dock. The hardest part about my job getting the trucks out of the facility on time. Some days are harder then most. The best part of my job – more...  is my co workers and my management team. We work hard and long together in order to get the job done. – less

Poor Management and Salary
Coder (Former Employee), Jacksonville, FL –
Pros: benefits
Cons: micromanaged breaks, lunch and time cards
Working with coding in the Jacksonville office, I found micro management and unprofessionalism. It was not a nice atmosphere to work. Very stressful and with the lack of good pay, was not a good place to be.

OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR (Former Employee), Santa Fe Springs, CA –
My responsibilities at McKesson are to oversee production and total operations. I Plan, organize, and direct the warehouse to ensure order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving is completed with 100% customer satisfaction. During production, I obtain data required for planning activities, such as: new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems – more...  encountered. With this information I would initialize business improvements to increase productivity. My direct manager and co-workers kept the shift light and enjoyable, which makes the work I do so much more enjoyable. – less

Very diverse and stable place to work in... providing they don't have a major lay-off.
Case Manager (Former Employee), Scottsdale, AZ –
Pros: multi=culture experience and travel.
Cons: being laid-off.
Look at reports, held meeting with staff, handle problems and returned phone calls. Management was very professional and easy to get along with, with an open door policy if one needed their assistance. Learned alot about out of the country medical benefits and their culture. the hardest part was hearing that we were no longer needed as the contracts – more...  had not been renewed with certaain companies. – less

Productive workplace with fun activity.
Lead Material Handler-Material Handler 3 (Former Employee), Landover, MD –
A typical day for me at Mckesson was to find out from my supervisor who was out in my department so I can see who I need to move around to get my department done.

I learned how to manage my own department without any supervision, promote team work in words and actions etc.

The management team was great. I was able to work with the management on the – more...  training of the new hires and temps and communicate problems with the management team.

My co-workers was interesting people to work with. Everyone had their own identity which was great

The hardest part of the job was to find out they were moving to a new location.

The most enjoyable part of the job was going to work knowing I had a full day of ahead of me and i had all those great personalities. – less

Hospital General Clerk III (Former Employee), San Ramon, CA –
Pros: was invited to alot of company functions
Cons: you have to drive just to eat lunch, we had a lunchroom but too small
processing of anesthesia charges for 72 anesthesiologists and demo code for accuracy. I've learned to work with patience and at the same time get charges process. Management said I need to concentrate as to avoid errors. We had an small office that employed 10 but I was like enough. I found it difficult to address my questions, the manager was not always – more...  present but the most enjoyable part of this job is the satisfaction of processing workload on time. – less

Employer shows appreciation for their employees. Multiple events (i.e., luncheons, picnics, recognition awards, etc.) are prevalant in the workplace.
Manager, Administrative Services (Former Employee), Jacksonville, FL –
Pros: mutliple luncheons for employees, annual picnics, employee recognitions/birthdays, excellent benefits.
Cons: lack of communication from executives.
Each day was very busy, engaging, and challenging. My job provided me with the opportunity to interact with all employees at all levels - very rewarding. I learned exceptional time management, multi-tasking skills and successful engagement with the corporate office executives and employees. Co-workers were friendly, happy and came to me for advice with – more...  any issues or concerns. The hardest part of my job was terminating any employee - never an easy task. The most enjoyable part of my job was feeling I was respected. – less

Material Handler shipping dept. Extended Care Unit (Former Employee), Grapevine, TX –
Pros: friendly co-workers, safe and clean employee environment, great benefits
Cons: sometimes it was longer days than were expected
A typical day was reading packing slip to get product information and then pulling those items and packing them in appropriate boxes to send on down the conveyor belt for the next area to be packed. It was a fast paced environment. The co-workers were a diverse group of people that got along well with each other. Employees were eager to help each other – more...  when and where needed. The hardest part was learning the product #'s and the most enjoyable part was getting to know the other employees. They were eager to help and easy to get to know. – less

Customer oriented, great co-workers
Software Engineer III (Current Employee), Westminster, CO –
Pros: good pay and benefits, stability
Cons: upper management "thrash", tiny cubes offering no privacy
McKesson is an enjoyable place to work, allowing employees work hour flexibility to provide some measure of work/life balance. I was fortunate not to be working on the "cutting-edge" products where much longer hours were expected, although I did work on some intense short-term projects too.
My McKesson co-workers are, with almost no exception, bright, – more...  personable and hard working.
First level managers dothe best job they can, but they were so often required to act as Product and/or Project Managers that they did not
Upper management, on the other hand, changes personnel frequently and changes priorities, and focus, with each "thrash". – less
