GSK is a great place to work, it is just unfortunate that they rarely hire temporary staff.

The most enjoyable part of working at GSK is that the people are friendly and ready and willing to help. The management was fare and done well. I really didn't find anything that was hard working for GSK. I would love to go back there to work again.

A wonderful place with wonderful people to work with
Executive Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Parsippany, NJ –
Pros: good salary
Cons: no job security
It was a good company to work with and I dont understand their tactics. They eliminate people go for no reason and hire new people who need to be trained. There is no job security through knowledge or years of service. You could have 15 years of service and lose your job to someone whose only been there three years.

I enjoyed the people and the type of work I did
Account Associate (Former Employee), RTP Durham, NC –
Pros: we had a one hour lunch.
A typical day at my former workplace, was to recieve the work request for the day. Go over them myself, and place them in the order I would be completing them. Get the materials and the machine ready for printing, and get started.

Positive and productive fun place to work in
Executive Assistant, Director - IT (Former Employee), Mississauga, ON –
Pros: great canteen and food choices
I have worked with GSK in 2006- 2007. I learned well from my Boss and was able to work with his busy schedule. I enjoyed the busy atmosphere and felt quiet challenged with all the other agents who worked through other agencies (contract staff).

Management was kind and very cooperative especially my immediate boss. I interacted with the accounts staff – more...  who were always willing to help when someone is new to the team.

The gym was an interesting place to unwind. The cafeteria was warm and enjoyable with its new and variety of interesting meals. The hardest part of the job is when a flight is cancelled and getting your boss on the next flight in the middle of the night. I enjoyed my job every day and never regret joining GSK, Mississauga.

Hope I can return back soon. – less

GSK | Northboro, MA
Executive Admin | Northborough Biologics Site (Former Employee), Northborough, MA –
Pros: benefits
Cons: hr team
I was asked to return to work at the Northboro MA facilities for GSK because I knew the facilities and had worked for a large company. I had been a prior employee when it was a start-up as a contractor.

Two members of the senior management team encouraged me to leave my full-time position and be part of the GSK team formerly IDB.

I was there for 1 – more...  month when I became aware that GSK would not be keeping the facilities open and that it would be closing.

The GSK Global HR team made the facilities go through the farce of finishing the merger. Benefits and titles were distributed...angst about incorrect payscale due to the site HR manager data entry of their qualifications.

The HR manager's concentration of mistakes were with women scientists with PhDs who were not given fair wages compared to their male colleagues.

Also, this GSK Northboro HR manager did not complete tasks on time and was not made accountable for their work. We had a spectacular HR manager when the facility was BioChem/Shire.

My overall experience was not good with GSK for the six months that I worked within the company. I had a great experience with P&G Needham, MA. P&G had a solid infrastructure and did a great job of closing the Needham facility. – less

bio devision-poor management
director, medical affairs (Current Employee), King of Prussia, PA –
Pros: reasonable compensation for the job description, not the job
Cons: no respect, no voice, if you are tasked with doing, not delegating
the company emphasizes certain values because it does not have them. Specifically "walk the talk" because middle managment who say this do as they please without an understanding how they say one thing and without caring about what it implies. Transpanerncy is another catch phrase, but middle managment is not at all transparent eitherr to those below – more...  or above. Integraty is the third word thad must laugh every time middle managment opens it mouth. Dodney Dangerfield would understand the respect the people who work at GSK bio get by the people who administer and delegate.
