About DFC
The Department for Families and Communities is committed to ensuring that all South Australians have access to quality services that protect and enhance the community's well-being and provide support to people when they need it. The department is made up of four main service areas:

- Domiciliary Care SA
- Families SA
- Housing SA
They also work with strategic partners through:
- Community Connect
- Office for the Ageing
- Office for Carers
- Office for Problem Gambling
- Volunteers Unit
The Department for Families and Communities' corporate services in finance, human resources, property, purchasing, risk management and audit support their direct service to customers. They also provide support to the Council for the Care of Children, Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee and the Guardian for Children and Young People who report directly to the Minister.
